The name servers ns1.engineyard.com and ns2.engineyard.com were temporarily returning an invalid destination IP that was causing DNS failures for ey00 customers utilizing ns1 and ns2 for their nam servers. We have moved these slices back to the original load balancers and they now respond with correctly formatted responses. Some customers may have been affected between 4:30 PST Sunday March 2nd and 9:45 Sunday March 2nd, depending on whether clients accessing the site had the DNS records cached or not.
It is recommended that any ey00 customer utilizing ns1 and ns2 (.engineyard.com) switch to a.ns.engineyard.com, b.ns.engineyard.com, and c.ns.engineyard.com.This change can be exacted through your domain registrar’s control panel. Please see http://forum.engineyard.com/forums/1/topics/29 for more information.
At this time no customers previously affected should be seeing any DNS resolution issues. Please submit a ticket or call the support line if you believe your domain remains affected.
